Frequently Asked Questions
How does the URL SSL check work?
The tool establishes a TLS connection to the target server and extracts the certificate chain from the handshake. It also captures the protocol version, cipher suite, key exchange, and ALPN protocol (HTTP/2 support).
Why does my certificate show as untrusted?
A certificate is untrusted if it is self-signed, issued by an unknown CA, expired, or if an intermediate in the chain is missing. Use a recognized Certificate Authority (Let’s Encrypt, DigiCert, Google Trust Services) and serve the full chain.
